Critical Kubernetes Update: Ingress NGINX Deprecation

The Kubernetes maintainers have announced the end-of-life for Ingress NGINX, with official support terminating in March 2026. This decision marks the deprecation of the project, meaning no further updates or security patches will be released.

What This Means for You

To help you transition smoothly, we’ve prepared a comprehensive guide covering:

  • Alternative solutions (e.g., NGINX Ingress Controller forks, Traefik, Istio)
  • Migration steps tailored to Asergo’s managed Kubernetes environment
  • Our recommended path forward to avoid disruption

Price Stability Amid Global Hardware Cost Surges

The global market for RAM and storage (SSD/HDD) experienced sharp price increases in late 2025, driven by supply chain constraints and heightened demand. While many providers are passing these costs to customers, Asergo is taking a different approach.

Our Commitment to You

We understand that predictable pricing is critical for your budgeting and operations. That’s why we’ve made a firm decision:

  • No price increases for new dedicated servers or Kubernetes products in the foreseeable future.
  • Continued access to cost-effective, high-performance infrastructure you can rely on.

AI at Asergo

Artificial intelligence is transforming infrastructure and operations, and we’re actively exploring AI tools to enhance our services. Many of our clients are seeking ways to integrate AI into their deployments, and we’re here to guide you.

Current Offerings:

  • Expert guidance on AI adoption strategies.
  • Hardware solutions for private LLMs (Large Language Models).

While AI infrastructure can be cost-intensive, we’re working to make it more accessible. Our solutions are still in development, and we’ll share updates as they progress.

Cluster Upgrade Best Practices

Through years of managing Asergo Kubernetes clusters, we've identified the most effective upgrade approaches. While there are multiple valid methods, we've determined that successful upgrades consistently share these three core characteristics:

  • Zero Downtime: Maintain continuous cluster availability throughout the upgrade process.
  • Incremental Updates: Avoid comprehensive full-cluster or operating system overhauls.
  • Minimal Disruption: Execute upgrades with minimal impact on operations.

Our recommended approach transforms cluster upgrades from complex projects into routine maintenance procedures that can be performed efficiently with minimal preparation.

Deploying Applications in Kubernetes

We've begun publishing a series of technical guides on deploying various applications within Asergo Kubernetes environments. Our first guide focuses on implementing the Odoo CRM platform, offering practical guidance that extends beyond this specific application. The guide provides valuable insights into:

  • Deploying traditional applications in containerized environments.
  • Handling non-container-native applications in Kubernetes.
  • Following best practices for application implementation.

Looking Forward into 2026

New Tiered S3 Storage Options - Release Q1

We’ve expanded our S3-compatible storage to include three performance tiers, giving you flexibility and cost control for different workloads. You can now create and manage buckets with these storage classes directly in your Asergo Dashboard.

Storage Tier Base Cost (≤ 250 GiB) Outbound Traffic Additional Storage Best For
Hot €5/month €0.01/GiB €0.02/GiB Frequently accessed data
Warm / Backup €2.75/month €0.015/GiB €0.015/GiB Infrequently accessed data
Cold / Archive €0.90/month €0.04/GiB €0.01/GiB Long-term retention

Key Benefits:

  • Cost Optimization: Pay only for the performance you need.
  • Seamless Integration: Manage all tiers from your existing dashboard.
  • Scalability: Add storage as your needs grow, with transparent pricing.

Works across Dedicated Servers and Kubernetes clusters.

Built-in firewall management.

Kubernetes Risk Assessment Dashboard - Release Q1

The KS8 Risk Assessment Dashboard provides automated, continuous analysis of your Kubernetes cluster's health, security, and efficiency. It transforms complex cluster data into clear, actionable insights with automated reporting, helping you proactively identify critical issues, optimization opportunities, and potential risks.

KS8 performs comprehensive cluster analysis by monitoring metrics in real-time and comparing against Asergo's performance benchmarks. The dashboard evaluates cluster health through multiple dimensions:

Cluster health scoring (0-100) with trend analysis identifies immediate issues requiring attention, including security vulnerabilities and failing components. Node-level analysis provides detailed inventory with specifications, role classification, and performance trends. Resource utilization is visualized through heatmaps showing CPU, memory, and pod density distributions, with capacity forecasting for future needs.

The system simulates failure scenarios to assess impact, including single node failures, zone outages, and control plane issues. It validates pod disruption budgets and identifies single points of failure. All findings are categorized by severity with estimated recovery times and data loss potential.

KS8 generates three types of recommendations:

  1. Critical Actions for immediate risks like unpatched CVEs, overcapacity nodes, failed components, and backup issues
  2. High-Priority Recommendations for stability and security improvements including node upgrades and policy adjustments
  3. Optimization Advice for cost savings (typically 15-30%), performance enhancements, and operational improvements

Harbor Docker Repository with Built-in Vulnerability Scanning - Release Q1

After extensive testing, we’re excited to launch our new Docker repository service, powered by Harbor—the enterprise-grade registry for container management. This fully managed, single-tenant solution gives you the freedom, security, and scalability needed for production-grade container workflows.

For just €30/month, you get:

  • 30 TB of storage with daily vulnerability scanning and reporting to proactively secure your containers.
  • The flexibility to expose your repository publicly for external access or restrict it to Asergo’s private network for enhanced security.

Our Next-Generation OS Installation System for Dedicated Servers - Release Q2

We are moving forward with dedicated server deployments with a completely redesigned operating system installation system, built from the ground up on modern architecture. This isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a fundamental shift in how you provision and manage your servers.

Key Features Designed for You:

  • Blazing-fast installations: Reduce deployment time significantly.
  • Expanded installation methods: Choose from multiple approaches to fit your workflow.
  • Native cloud-init support: Automate configurations using industry-standard templates.
  • Custom image management: Upload, store, and reuse your own installation images for consistent, repeatable deployments.

This is just the beginning; we will share a detailed technical deep dive in our next newsletter.

Update: Asergo Kubernetes Platform 4.0

We will continue to fully support our current 3.x Kubernetes platform while preparing for the release of version 4.0 in 2026. This update introduces enhanced hybrid capabilities, allowing Asergo Kubernetes clusters to operate both on-premises and in third-party datacenters—all managed from your existing Asergo dashboard.

We provide a fully managed Kubernetes environment, including comprehensive monitoring, logging, and maintenance services. Since we do not modify the core Kubernetes architecture and your infrastructure is dedicated, you maintain complete flexibility to integrate your own tools—either alongside or as a full replacement for Asergo's preinstalled solutions.

Key Improvements in v4.0:

  • Hybrid Deployment: Run clusters in your preferred environment while maintaining a consistent management experience
  • Streamlined Provisioning: Deploy dedicated servers and Kubernetes nodes efficiently using Kubectl or our GraphQL API
  • Tooling Flexibility: Use Asergo's managed services or bring your own monitoring, logging, and maintenance tools
  • Dedicated Infrastructure: Full control over your environment with no vendor lock-in

This update provides greater flexibility in where and how you host your infrastructure, with the same tools and interface you already use, while maintaining the option to leverage Asergo's managed services or your own preferred solutions.

Final Words

There is of course more to come in 2026, but we hope that we have given you some insights into the direction we are going.

We will always love to hear your views and recommendations—please don't hold back.
